You can’t “spot burn” or target fat with specific exercises. If you want definition, you need to burn fat everywhere. Period. Core exercises like these are not an effective way to burn fat, either, as these movements burn a minuscule amount of calories.
Compound lifts (deadlifts, squats, clean and jerk etc.), high-intensity interval training, supramaximal interval training, and plain ol’ mid-intensity steady-state aerobic conditioning are far more efficient at building strength and burning fat. This is especially true when all of these training methods are combined in a well-balanced, varied training regimen with a nutritious diet.
